在上一篇『俯拾皆是的靈感來源』中，筆者寫過：一篇獨立寫作通常著眼於考生自身的經驗。那麼我們本應以生活中最密切相關的層面出發，來撰寫、陳述觀點的有效性，而「最密切」無非就是日常生活頻繁接觸的人事物，粗略可以分為四類：工作、學校、健康與人際關係。
為求面對題幹議題時的應答彈性，這四類須延伸概念至更廣闊的諸多內涵，以下提供一些可以思考的方向：
Jobs：找工作、賺錢能力、負擔能力…
School：學習技能、增廣見聞、考試分數…
Health：生理健康、心理健康(relax, having fun)…
Relationship：家庭、好友、溝通能力…
於是我們不妨拿TPO的題目練習ideas的發想，將主題句簡單地寫下。
題目：TPO-47
Independent Writing Task
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
It is important to know about events happening around the world, even if it is unlikely that they will affect your daily life.
立場：agree
主題句簡答：
1. Jobs：找工作、賺錢能力、負擔能力
Knowing worldwide events is essential for us to become outstanding at work…
2. School：學習、技能、增廣見聞、考試分數
Receiving international information broadens our horizons, triggering creativity.
3. Health：生理健康、心理健康(relax, having fun)

從上述之應答，不難發現獨立寫作的幾個特色：1. 自身經驗；2. 方向一致；3. 邏輯訊息單一(EX：簡單因果)；4. 避免重複。
